23rd Edition | Business Simulation, an International Project for Success - Several Perspectives

The 23rd edition of the event "Business Simulation, an International Successful Project - Several Perspectives" took place last Monday, February 20th, 2023. More than 80 students from the Accounting and Finance degrees were present.

On February 20th, the Noble Auditorium hosted the annual event of Business Simulation that has the primary purpose of bringing together students of the degree in Accounting and Finance, from the diurnal and nocturnal schedules, to understand how this curricular unit works. The event is organized by the professors of the Department of Accounting and Finance and is supported by the Order of Certified Accountants (OCC), which was represented by its Vice-President Jorge Barbosa.

The opening session of "Business Simulation, a Successful International Project - Several Perspectives" counted with the institutional participation of the Department of Accounting and Finance and the presence of the Deputy Director of the School of Business Administration (ESCE/IPS) João Nabais, who reinforced the importance of building and maintaining partnerships that are beneficial to both students and organizations.

In his turn, the OCC's Vice-President reinforced that the curricular unit "Business Simulation" is a requirement to enter the Order and confessed that it is so or more useful than a Curricular Internship since students put into practice what they learn in theory throughout the three years, not always happening so effectively during an Internship.

This event articulates the application of the teaching methodology based on problem solving, with the continuous evaluation model based on different virtual companies related in the virtual market that develop current management tasks, such as negotiating, buying, selling, and fulfilling legal and fiscal obligations.

The profession of Certified Accountant has been increasingly recognized at the national political level and there is an increase in the incentive to follow this profession.

The three slogans that were chanted throughout the Noble Auditorium were: Autonomy, Commitment and Resilience.

ESCE/IPS wishes all "Business Simulation" students good luck.
