National and International researchers attended the 4th ICQIS Edition

The 4th International Conference on Quality, Innovation and Sustainability, an event organized by ESCE/IPS with the aim of sharing and disseminating knowledge, took place earlier this week.

The program of this edition was composed by several remarkable and enriching moments:

> Keynotes Speakers, Matevž Obrecht - expert in Sustainable Supply Chain Management from the University of Maribor, Slovenia - and Gilberto Santos - Coordinator of the Master in Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment and Safety) of the IP do Cávado e do Ave.

> Round Table, entitled "Innovation & Sustainability", had the presence of the guests José Pratas (CGI), Pedro Dominguinhos (former President of IPS and current President of PRR), Pedro Lago (SONAE MC), Vítor Caldeirinha (Port of Setúbal) and Cindy Barardo (Women in Tech Portugal), as session moderator.

> Parallel Sessions, consisting of presentations on scientific research that enabled knowledge exchange and recommendations for future work, carried out in the scope of sustainability and innovation by national and international professors.

> Social meetings, to promote networking, on May 22 coffee breaks were organized, introducing some typical Portuguese pastries, as well as a dinner where participants tried the traditional Setubal gastronomy, such as fried cuttlefish. In turn, on the 23rd a social visit to tourist attractions in our city of Setúbal took place to make this experience even more memorable.

"Innovation is about survival in the various areas." - José Pratas

"What we have been seeing in this last year, and especially in these last months, is evolution. But, we need space for all this evolution." - Vítor Caldeirinha

"It is necessary to change mindsets and start thinking about long-term results." - Pedro Dominguinhos

"We have to think about how people adapt and react to an energy consumption reduction solution." - Matevž Obrecht
